We went through Disney Tourist Blog, Timeshare Broker Associates, DVC Rental Store, Ziggy Knows Disney, DIS Boards, and Reddit — and this is what we got.

The ten ranked resorts above are the ones that consistently top guest surveys, forum discussions, and expert lists for the Walt Disney World experience most people picture when they think about a DVC vacation. The six unranked resorts aren’t lesser — they serve different purposes. Copper Creek and the Fort Wilderness Cabins expand your options in the Magic Kingdom area, the two Disneyland-area villas are the only DVC properties on the west coast, and Aulani, Vero Beach, and Hilton Head are standalone destinations that work best as beach vacations rather than park trips.

#10Disney’s Saratoga Springs – Relaxed and Versatile

Saratoga Springs is large, has multiple pools, multiple dining options, proximity to Disney Springs, and room categories suited to longer stays. It is the resort that rewards people who want flexibility — those who might spend a morning at a spa, an afternoon at a park, an evening at a restaurant that isn’t technically on Disney property but is close enough. Don’t forget Artist’s Palette for creative sandwiches, salads, and flatbreads.

#9Disney’s Old Key West – Value and Space

Old Key West is the value proposition resort — the rooms are among the largest on property, the points costs tend to run lower, and the whole experience has a nice Key West-ish charm.

It is not the most glamorous option, but it is comfortable and spacious. Also, Olivia’s Cafe for Key lime pie, conch fritters, and seafood in a cozy, nautical setting.

#8Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Unique Savanna Views and Immersion

One of the main draws are the zebras and giraffes. You can wake up early, before anyone else, stand at your window with a cup of coffee, and watch a giraffe do whatever giraffes do at six in the morning.

This is not something you can do at other resorts. It’s a specific and irreplaceable experience. The Animal Kingdom Villas are more removed from the other parks, and some people find that inconvenient — but those people are also missing the giraffe. Also a must-try: Jiko – The Cooking Place at Jambo House for African-inspired wines and flavorful dishes like bobotie.

#7Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge – Fan Favorite for Theming

Boulder Ridge will give you a more peaceful and quiet vacation. These villas create the feeling of not just an event but more like a stay at a very nice lodge in the Pacific Northwest. Plus there’s a boat that takes you directly to Magic Kingdom.

The rooms are smaller than some. The vibe is relaxed. Families who have stayed here tend to become loyal to it in a way that’s hard to fully articulate, but seems to involve the word “cozy” and sometimes a long pause.

BoardWalk is for people who want things to do. Waterfront restaurants, street performers, and a nightlife energy — even if you never made it to a park.

EPCOT is a fifteen-minute walk. Hollywood Studios is a short boat ride away. This is the resort that rewards flexibility.

Beach Club is the one families keep coming back to, and the reason is Stormalong Bay. The lazy river, water slide, and sand-bottom pool are legendary.

The Riviera wants you to feel like you’re somewhere in the South of France. The Skyliner gondola takes you directly to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The food at Topolino’s Terrace is a must-try for Tuscan-Italian tasting, live jazz, and EPCOT fireworks. An elegant date-night winner.

#2Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – Iconic Theming

If you want someone to understand what DVC is, you take them to the Polynesian. The torches, the tropical lobby, the balcony for fireworks. You can stand on certain balconies and watch Magic Kingdom fireworks without leaving your pajamas. Must try the Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast — a breakfast/lunch legend.

#1Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas – Luxury and Magic Kingdom Access

The Grand Floridian is “Disney luxury.” White Victorian architecture, live piano music in the lobby, proximity to Magic Kingdom via monorail or a very nice walk.

If you want to feel like you’re on a proper vacation, this is the resort that understands that distinction. With Citricos for New American fine dining (lamb, seafood) in a chandelier-lit ballroom. Flagship luxury.
